Animals You Didn't Know Were Extinct!
Introduction
There are a lot of extinct animals that we didn't know about and there all from different countries. There are Dinosaurs that we all know they were extinct a thousand years ago but now we are going to learn about more extinct animals.
Amur Leopard
The Amur Leopard is not the least of which is inbreeding, cub survival is on the decline in the Amur Leopard population. There are about 30 left in the world.
Ivory Billed Woodpecker
The Ivory Billed Woodpecker has not been seen since 1944 if this American bird isn't already extinct its not long in til it would be.
Northen White Rhino
The Northen White Rhino there are only 5 Northen White Rhinos exist on the planet after one died at the San Diego Zoo. None of this animals exsits in the wild.
Mammoth
The Mammoth is a type of elephant from the pliocene epoch from around 5 million years ago! These animals were really huge reaching the height of almost 4 meters! And weighting up to 8 tones! A third theory suggests however that the latter may have died because of a infectious sickness.
Laughing Owl
The Laughing Owl is native to New Zealand the skeleton of the owl in the British Museum. The species have received their name because of their sound, resembling a dogs barking. Their plumage was yellowish-brown striped with dark brown with white straps on the scapulars and their wings and tail had light brown bars. The owls mostly lived in rock areas.
Quagga
Once found in High veld of the Cap Province and the southern part of the Orange Free State in South Africa, this type of zebra is different from the rest, for the reason that it has strips on the front part of the body only. The original Quagga was hunted to extinction for its meat and hide. the last one died in an Amsterdam zoo in 1883.
Large Rodents ( Josephoartigasia Mones )
The South Amrican rodent,which is recorded as the largest living species , lived 2-4 million years ago. it is believed that despite there sizes reaching even 1000kgs, these animals were vegetarians. Their closest living relative is the rare and slow moving pacarna.
