Here is what's on top at Buena Vista! 1/5/2022
Note from the Principal
Good Afternoon Parents,
Happy New Year and Thank You! It is so strange to think we are almost halfway through this school year. We have managed to accomplish so much in those first 5 months of school. Having in-person school during a pandemic is not without is challenges. It has definitely been a team effort between administration, teachers, parents, students and our community supporters.
I truly appreciate the parents' partnership with us to try and have the smoothest return from winter break as possible. So many of you came through to pick up rapid Covid tests Sunday or Monday morning. We could not do this with our your cooperation and transparency...so thank you!
I know that there are a few families still waiting to hear from our Walnut Creek School District Health Center. Please be patient, the first two days back have been very busy. If you have not heard from them yet, you should hear from them by tomorrow. If you have any questions during your wait, please reach out to me directly and I will help you find the answers you are looking for. agramlick@walnutcreeksd.org.
Here are a couple of quick reminders:

BV Looking for Noon Duty Supervision
We are looking for extra supervision support during lunch and recess. Generally we need this supervision from 11:25-1:10. This includes supervising students while eating their lunch and watching them on our playground and making sure they are following the rules. We are looking for someone 5 days a week, but there may be some flexibility if you can commit on a regular schedule for certain days of the week. Please reach out directly to me agramlick@walnutcreeksd.org. You can also check the job posting here.
Please continue to be safe and take care.
Respectfully,
Angela Gramlick
Principal

After School Enrichment
We are excited that enrichment classes are finally here! Some last minute reminders:
- If your student is taking an enrichment class, please remind them before school that day so they can walk to their enrichment class after school. In case they forget the locations, teachers and the office has all of that information (Please note: T-K and Kinders will be picked up directly from BV Club/school and dropped back off)
- Enrichment providers should be providing all parents a welcome email, I apologize if that didn't happen in all classes. We will continue to reiterate to our enrichment teachers the importance of them sending a welcome email, so if you haven't seen one yet, hopefully you soon will.
- If your child is not at school on the day of enrichment, please let the enrichment teacher know in advance so they aren't spending class time figuring out where your child is.
- All parents -- if you still want to enroll your child in an enrichment class, it is NOT TOO LATE! There are still some openings in some classes, so please go to the link below and register. Registration will close at midnight on Friday, Jan 7th. After that time, you will not be able to register. So if you are interested, do that ASAP! https://www.homeroom.com/sites/buena-vista-elementary-walnut-creek
Thank you, feel free to email us with any questions.
