St. Therese Family Newsletter - July 21, 2021
Busy, busy, busy!
We have been busy getting the school building ready for fall - touchless water filling stations are in and working (thank you Schommer & Sons), rooms are being cleaned, and technology is being updated. Please be on the lookout for ways that you can help us out and get a head start on those Fair Share Hours! The next opportunity is on Tuesday...see details below.
Want to check out our uniform exchange? Stop by between 8 and noon Monday - Thursday or give us a call and we will know to expect you outside of those hours. We are on campus every single day, but working in other areas, so if we know you are coming we will be waiting for you in the office. We have various sizes and this program really saves families money and time - swing by and check it out!
Warmly,
Rosemarie El Youssef

FAIR SHARE OPPORTUNITY
Thank you so much for the help on our last trip downtown for furniture - we need to make ONE MORE to get the rest of the donated items.
We will be renting another U-Haul and heading downtown at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27th. What we really need are people to help roll chairs and carry pieces down the elevator into the loading zone to the U-Haul. We should be finished by noon - I'll buy pizza for all of our helpers!
We can carpool from the school if you are comfortable, or meet at the building downtown. The address is 421 SW 6th Ave.
If you are interested in helping, email Rosemarie at elyoussefr@stthereseschool.org or call the school office at 503-253-9400.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
School supply lists are on the website and can be found HERE.
They are also available below, attached to the newsletter.
The lists are designed so that you can take a screenshot with your phone, and edit the photo to cross off items as you place them in your cart - paperless shopping!
Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten lists will be available soon.
2021-2022 School Calendar
Every Wednesday will be an early release so that teachers can work with their colleagues at other Catholic schools in our region - it's how we work to improve our practice!
The school day will begin at 8:15 every morning for Kindergarten through 8th grade, and 8:20 for those students in pre-school or pre-kindergarten. While preschool and pre-kindergarten students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. each day, all other students will be dismissed at 3:15 (except on Wednesdays when ALL students are dismissed at 2:30.
REFERRAL PROGRAM - Bring a friend and get a credit!
Refer a friend to our school and receive ONE MONTH tuition FREE.
The family must fully enroll at St. Therese and stay through the school year - your credit will show on your final billing statement in May 2022.
The family must tell us that you referred them - we will send you a form to complete and return to us so that the credit can be applied. They can note it right on their application form.
Your account and the new family's account must remain in good standing throughout the school year.
This credit does not apply to incidental expenses like hot lunch, extended care, and field trips.
This credit is based on your total tuition divided by 12 payments.
Please feel free to share the flyer below in your networks and encourage your friends to follow us on social media!
Thanks for helping us promote our school!

Want to know how you can help? Our athletic programs would not be as successful as they are without coaches, and we need you right now for Volleyball and Hot Shots Basketball. If you are interested in coaching for St. Therese for either Volleyball or Hot Shots Basketball, or know of anyone who would be, please click HERE to see the Coach Certification Requirements. You can also reach out to me if you have any questions.
Coaching is an amazing opportunity to give back to the school and community. While it does help having played or having some knowledge of the game it is not a requirement. I have been head coach for the sports of baseball and football for years and never played those sports. And if you don't have child participating in those sports but still want to coach that is fine as well. There is no rule saying you must have a kid on a team to coach that team. We have serveral coaches who have coached for us for years that don't even have kids going to St. Therese but just want to coach and give back.
Thank you so much everyone and I am looking forward to another amazing year of sports at St. Therese and hopefully the opportunity to hang some more championship banners in our gym. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!
