Glacier Ridge Elementary School 08.28.20
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
The first week of school started off with teachers quickly responding to the Zoom platform being down. Kudos to them and you for quickly responding and starting school pretty much right on time.
During this first week of remote school our teachers spent a great deal of time on getting to know you activities and community building. As we move into the next week you will see teachers transition into a more academic focused delivery.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility with our new style of school. Please continue to check the district website for updates and answers to many of your questions.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Jacobsen

Family Contact Information
When we are able to transition back to in-person learning please carefully consider who you choose as an emergency contact. Contacts should be adults who are available during the day and have transportation should it be necessary to pick up your child(ren) from school. If necessary, please contact your child’s school to update your information.
Remote Learning Attendance Procedures
Student attendance will be taken online daily by teachers during synchronous learning. Any students missing will be reported to the school’s main office. Parents/guardians should call the school’s attendance line (available 24/7) and leave a message to report student absences for any reason. When you call to report an absence for your child who isn't feeling well, and can't participate in remote learning, please include your child's symptoms with your message.
Required Physicals and Immunizations - DUE Oct. 15th
Physicals and immunizations MUST be completed regardless of in-person or remote by Oct.15th. Exclusions will apply if not completed. (Physical exams must have been completed within one year prior to the first day of school.)
If a student requires ANY medication at school, scheduled and/or as needed, prescribed or over-the-counter, it MAY NOT be dropped off at school without a completed medication authorization form for EACH medication. The forms can also be found on district website.
Upon completion of your child’s health exam, forms and immunization records may be scanned and emailed to the school nurse by visiting the medical records submission page of the District 47 website. Forms may also be dropped off in our drop box located at our main doors or faxed to 815-477-5547
Visit the District 47 website for a complete schedule of state health, dental, and vision exam and immunization requirements by grade level. If questions, please contact your health office.
