News from Special Services September 2021
Greetings!
I would like to welcome all of our families back to school! It has been great seeing the students in and around all the buildings. This is a year like no other with a lot of transitioning for many of our students who have may have been out of the buildings since the Covid-19 pandemic began. Our teachers are prepared to assist all the students as they transition back to the classroom and we are looking forward to supporting our students and families!
I would like to welcome Ms. Lauren DiVece to our district. Ms. DiVece is our district's Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. DiVece will be supporting our students and staff in all three buildings. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our district and we are excited to have her join our team!
I want to invite you to join us for our Special Education Parent Advisory Group. This is a great way to get involved in your child's education, share ideas with other parents, and learn about new topics. The dates of the meetings are below and they will begin at 6:00 pm. Our October meeting will be held virtually. This is a parent driven group, so if you would like to serve as a member of our SEPAG board, please indicate that on the RSVP form below.
In an effort ot streamline the IEP process, our case managers will be communicating via the parent portal available in our IEP platform, Frontline Education. This feature allows our parents immediate access to certain documents and will allow you to provide an electronic signature at the click of a button. It is important to update your email in Genesis, as that is the email where all documents will be sent. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact your child's case manager.
We look forward to a great year!
All the best,
Christopher Butler
