Kirk Fenton News
5th July 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
We have had a very exciting week this week as the children have been meeting their teachers for next year and working in their new classrooms. We have been joined by lots of new children and both of our new teachers but everyone has settled incredibly well and it has been a very successful few days. I'm sure your children will have lots to tell you about their new classes.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Friends of Kirk Fenton for the fabulous Summer Fair that they organised last week end. Lots of fun was had by all and they raised the magnificent sum of £1900 for us to spend on new reading books which are long overdue. Thank you to all who came to support the afternoon - it really does make a difference!
Finally, just a polite reminder that as a 'Healthy School' children should be bringing water in their water bottles and not juice or squash.
Enjoy the weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

Summer Fair - weren't we lucky with the weather?!
The figures for the summer fair are yet to be finalised, but we think, after expenses, that we have made an amazing total of £1,900. This is the result of a massive amount of work by many many people, we are grateful to everyone who has helped - donating prizes, baking, helping to set up, run the fair, pack away... and of course bringing your kids and your pennies for a fun day out!
A special thank you goes to Jigsaws Nursery for sending volunteers and to the school staff who helped, including: Mrs McKeating, Mrs Williams, Mrs Fitzpatrick, Miss McHale, Mrs Cameron, Mrs Parnaby, Mrs Mawson, new face Mr Symes and finally Mrs White who as usual stayed until the very end to clean and lock up. It was great to have such support.
We really hope you enjoyed the event and if you have any feedback for us, we'd love to hear it - honestly, even negative points - so that we can try to improve for next year. Private message us on Facebook, drop us an email or catch one of us on the school run.
