Week 5 Edition of the Mayfield Messenger

Message from Dr. Frischkorn

Good Evening Mayfield Intermediate School students and families!

This evening we hosted our school's first PBIS event with the Mayfield Tailgate! Our school loves providing our students the opportunity to come together and enjoy each other's company while building positive relationships that will last for years. For our first after-school event, the activity buses left the school later than anticipated, but the students were en route home.

The tailgate party is a great time to celebrate community and kick off the beginning of a great school year. Our students can meet and talk with some of their new classmates and can start building those great connections with their classmates that will carry them throughout their educational career in Manassas City.

We want to give a special shout-out to all our volunteers who helped make our first PBIS event of the year a success. Ms. Broskey did a tremendous job organizing the event. We loved the Osbourn Eagle football players and cheerleaders (also former Mayfield Bobcats) coming to help support our students. Check out the pictures below to see a great time that all our guests had.

Our PBIS committee has scheduled multiple events throughout the year for our students to celebrate together. Check out the list of upcoming events listed right below this message.

Always Learning,

Dr. Donald Frischkorn

Principal

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Manassas City Public Schools are accepting referrals for students in our gifted and talented program. Please take a moment to complete the Google Form below. We believe that many of our students display the characteristics of students who could receive gifted and talented support in school. Parents play a vital role in identifying the students who demonstrate these characteristics.

Please answer all questions provided and submit the form at the end. If you have any questions or issues related to filling out the form or GT programming generally, please contact Anthony Vargas, Supervisor of GT and Advanced Programming, at avargas@mcpsva.org .

Favor responda a todas las preguntas y oprima "Submit" al completar el formulario. Student Code of Conduct

Students at Mayfield Intermediate follow the same Student Code of Conduct that ALL students in Manassas City Public Schools follow. Students and parents must read and review the Student Code of Conduct Regularly. We keep the Student Code of Conduct attached as a file at the bottom of every Mayfield Messenger that we send.
