Aloe Elementary Library
Google Earth
I highly suggest downloading and using Google Earth to enhance learning in the classroom. This is a great tool to use with all students! I used it two years ago with my reading class when we traveled west and again last year when we looked at the voyage of the Titanic. This program allows students to explore the world around them that they may have never realized exists. Journey on explorers!

Amazing Google Earth Discoveries
Smithsonian
This is a great resource for integrating technology into the classroom. If you search by state standards, many TEKS are listed with links to additional resources (especially in Science and Social Studies).

A Mighty Girl
This is a great web site that a friend (who is a mom to 4 children, three of them are girls), shared with me (knowing that I only have boys but want everyone to read). I looked through the books for girls and was not at all surprised that Aloe has many of these books but SFA also uses many of these books. Great site for suggesting what to read next...

Guys Read
Balance is always good :) I LOVE the Guys Read books and carry many of them in the library. I've even had girls check them out because they are just so funny. I'll be honest, I started reading more boy centered books to try and understand my kids, and ended up loving the stories and adventures. Explore the web site. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll see a list of books according to popular topics.
