Dr. Blakley Wallace 11-28-22
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
11-28-22
Dear Thunder Ridge Families,
I hope that you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break and were able to spend quality time with your families and friends. My son was home from college for the break, and it just feels better when you are able to have the whole family together.
We are now entering the home stretch for our 2nd quarter and the end of our 1st semester. Before we know it, the year 2022 will be coming to an end. This is the time that students need to fully engage with their learning and make sure that they complete their assignments, finish their projects, and check for understanding with what they are learning. We also have a few concerts coming up:
Orchestra Concert, Monday, December 5 @ EHS Auditorium 6:30pm
Choir Concert, Monday, December 12 @ EHS Auditorium 6:30pm
Band Concert, Wednesday, December 14 @ EHS Auditorium 6:30pm
This week we will continue our focus on the Core Value: Engagement and our Thunder Value: Dream Big as we ensure that every student feels welcomed, seen and valued. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns either by phone (720) 886-1505 or by email at tmssupport@cherrycreekschools.org.
Thank you for your continued support of Thunder Ridge Middle School!

New Revised Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures
Dear Thunder Ridge Families:
Safety during drop off and pick up of your child is always our priority. We would like to outline our procedures in this letter to make for a better drop off and pick up experience. We have changed some of our procedures so please be sure to review this letter. We ask that students and families follow our carpool procedures, rules, and direction by school personnel.
Carpool Line:
- There are two lanes in our drop-off location on the west side of the school. The left lane is a thru lane, so no student drop-off /pick-up, or parking in this lane is permitted. Drop-off/Pick-up lane is the right lane anywhere along the sidewalk. You may use the Thru Lane to pull into the Drop-Off/Pick-up Lane at any point along the sidewalk. Have your child exit the door on the passenger’s (sidewalk) side, walk to the crosswalk, and you may pull back into the Thru Lane to exit the parking lot.
Additional Carpool Guidelines:
- Parking is not permitted in the Drop-off/Pick-up, Thru or Bus Lanes.
- Students are to be picked up no later than 4:00 p.m.
- Do not leave your car unattended while in the carpool lanes.
- Do not leave children unattended in your car.
- Drop-off or pick-up is not permitted in the bus lanes at any time.
- The carpool lanes move quite smoothly with your support, and traffic is generally over by 4:00 p.m.
- Do not park, stop, block, load or unload in the crosswalks.
- Always yield to walkers.
- Students are expected to use our designated crosswalk to cross the bus lanes.
- While in the carpool line, pull as far forward as possible allowing cars to move forward.
- Please do not smoke in the carpool lanes. Thunder Ridge Middle School and the Cherry Creek School District are smoke free.
Thank you for your attention to carpool safety!
8th Grade Families - CCIC Information
8th Grade families,
Your student recently had the opportunity to tour the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC).
Open now in its fourth year, the CCIC is a stand-alone Career & Technical Education (CTE) facility accessible to CCSD high school students in 10th through 12th grades. With curriculum rooted in real-world skills and trade certifications ranging from computer sciences to aviation to health and wellness, this facility offers students a new kind of bridge to college and careers in high demand. Along with CTE courses at all CCSD home high schools, the CCIC expands the district's commitment to preparing students for the academic and professional demands of modern careers.
We know you may have additional questions about how CCIC may play a role in your student’s high school path. The following opportunities are available for families interested in learning more:
Thursday, December 1, 6 PM
Road Map to CCIC virtual presentation and Q&A session: CCIC Counselors will outline planning and schedule considerations if your student wants to attend CCIC in high school.
