Timberwolf Times
Volume 5, Issue 17 - November 27th, 2022
A Message from Dr. Lowry
Timberwolf Family,
I hope everyone found some time to rest, relax, and recharge over this Thanksgiving break. With one month left in the calendar year, I hope we all stay focused on the positive and continue encouraging our students to achieve greatness as we close out 2022!
This Monday, Student Council will host their annual toy drive. Your student can bring a new toy to school any day in the next two weeks and our student council will donate it to Texas Children's Hospital.
Our incredible PTA is hosting another Fun Food Friday this Friday, December 2nd. Please consider volunteering or donating an item from our sign up.

Furthermore, this week our basketball programs have several games. The girls take on Katy JH at Katy HS and the boys take on Beckendorff at BDJH and WCJH. If you have some time, I hope you can come out and support these amazing teams. Lastly, in the next few weeks our Fine Arts department will host their winter concerts. Each of these groups are incredible and I hope you have time to come support our Timberwolves while also enjoying some beautiful music.
Take care, be safe, and give thanks! GO TIMBERWOLVES!

LIBRARY BOOK NOTIFICATIONS
In alignment with Board policy EFB Local - Library Materials, beginning November 7, the District will begin emailing all parents/guardians on file each time their student checks out a library book.
SECONDARY ENGLISH CLASSROOM LIBRARIES
English Language Arts (ELA) Classroom libraries allow students immediate access to independent reading material, which supports the English Language Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library. Please note that beginning November 7, prior to a student being able to check out an ELA classroom library book, parental consent will be required. On November 7, parents will be able to access the Katy ISD Parent Option Portal, located in MyKaty Cloud, to provide consent for their secondary student to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an English classroom library book.
MAKE SOMEONES DAY!
Teaching and Learning Department of Gifted/Talented and Advanced Academic Studies
