Fabra Elementary School
Red Ribbon Week, Awards, Science Fair, & More!
Thank you to everyone who attended our fall festival yesterday. It was a beautiful evening and fun was had by all. Kudos to our PTO, parents, teachers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who made it happen for our school community.
Today we had our first 9 week's awards assemblies. We met with each grade level and recognized A and AB honor roll, perfect attendance, and character. It is so great to see the enthusiasm of students cheering for each other and the joy on their face when they hear their name called. During the assembly, we reminded our students that their efforts both at home and at school can make a big difference in their grades. Turning in assignments on time, not rushing on a test or quiz, and doing the little things can be the difference between an A or a B. We also reminded students that they would have 3 more opportunities this year to be recognized and to continue working hard in their class.
A big part of our assembly was recognizing outstanding character. Falcon Flyers (4th and 5th Grade pictured below) are selected for showing great character and going above and beyond their expectations. Each staff member receives two wristbands every 9 weeks to award. Turning in lost money, a student running out in the rain to move backpacks from the courtyard, picking up trash, and helping new students adjust to our school are just some of the reasons Falcon Flyers were awarded last 9 weeks. We ended our assemblies by challenging every student to "Be the Reason" and giving them a spirit stick to serve as a continuous reminder.
Report cards are available on Skyward. If you would like a printed copy or support accessing your child's grades online, please let us know.
As we move forward to the next few months, let's continue having high academic and character expectations of all our students and work together to help each one of them reach their goals. Thank you for all of your support and please reach out to me directly at (830) 357-4205 if you have any questions, comments, kudos for our staff, or concerns.
Sunny in the upper 70's all weekend. Enjoy!
Thank you,
