Red Ribbon Week (October 26-30)
We will be observing Red Ribbon Week October 26-30. Each day has a different theme, and students are encouraged to dress accordingly. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, October 26: Team Up Against Drugs and Bullying- Wear your favorite team's jersey or shirt
Tuesday, October 27: Sock It to Drugs- Wear crazy socks
Wednesday, October 28: Mix It Up Day- Wear mis-matched clothes
Thursday, October 29: Lights Out on Drugs and Bullying- Wear pajama pants and sunglasses
Friday, October 30: Be a HERO and Stand Up to Bullying- Wear a super-hero or community hero (police, fire, etc.) shirt

CogAT Testing
In the dates section, you can see that 2nd graders will be taking the CogAT test October 19-21. It is a cognitive abilities test divided into three sections; verbal, non-verbal, and quantitative. Please try to be sure your child is here each day that week with a good night's sleep.
Geography Bee
On October 27, students will have the opportunity to participate in the preliminary round of the Geography Bee. While only 4th and 5th graders can participate in the official Geography Bee, the preliminary round where students take the test is open to anyone. All participants will be recognized, but only 4th and 5th graders will move on to the Top Ten due to national rules.
