The mausoleum is called the "Taj Mahal". The Taj Mahal was was built in the 17th century. Emperor Shan Jahan built it for his third wife Mumtaz giving birth to their 14th child and died. In so much pain he built a tomb or a mausoleum for her. He spent thousands of dollars. He spent so much he couldn't pay his workers, and went to jail.
It toke a lot of construction to build the Taj Mahal. It toke 22 years to build. It also toke 22,000 workers total. 2,000 elephants and 20,000 people. It was built with makrana marble and precious jewels. It is 186 feet high, and 23 feet high. Also 243 feet above garden level. It has four towers around it. And 600 rooms!
Now that you have read the newspaper about the Taj Mahal, you seem pretty interested. So you pack your bags and get on the road. The you finally get there and see a road block and people are standing outside their cars. The Taj Mahal is right in front of you. So you get your phone out and start snapping pictures. The Taj Mahal is a beautiful place to visit, and only $15 to get in. So maybe you should visit the Taj Mahal also.
Today over 45,000 people visit the Taj Mahal. Some pay $15 to go inside, others just stay outside and take pictures. mostly when people go inside they admire the room that Shah Jahan and Mumtaz are buried,and all the jewels its made out of.
