Reflections from Elder's Desk
For the past four weeks of school, we have stressed the importance of setting a positive tone and maintaining a disciplined environment. The foundation that we establish is essential for us to continue the climate of excellence we pride ourselves on. It has been challenging the first four weeks of school, but we will be committed to allowing the challenges presented to help us become better educators.
One of our new students shared with me how her attitude hindered her success in previous years. However, last Friday she expressed how she is making good grades, she likes her teachers, and she is happier. Moreover, a parent shared how her son is doing well in school, and he has not been this successful since fourth grade. The mom expressed how her son shared how his teachers care about him and they “get him.” Both of these stories made my heart pitter-patter because of the impact you are making with our students.
Be encouraged and hold firm to the expectations we have set. Each of you have a purpose at AMCHS so continue to be intentional in making a difference.
