Class KG Newsletter
Week 10
Happy Holidays!!
Well here it is the end of Term 1 - how quickly time goes.... I am super pleased with the progress of all student in KG - it truly is remarkable how quickly they are learning. I hope all families have a well deserved break. I will send some readers home and all students have a new set of sight words in their book to work on through the holidays. You may also like to access some of the educational websites sent home earlier this term.
Students should bring in craft iems /things (recyclable if possible) for hat decorating on Monday. If students can find an old hat or even a paper party hat to bring along to school with some items they might glue on, in a plastic bag ready to put together in our final week of school. They then have a parade under the COLA on the final day of school wearing their hat creations.
Please continue with the 'Sight Words' book. These contain lists of words that students need to learn to help with their reading and writing. I have put 10 lists in but it is important that you work on perhaps just one list each week. I will be putting in the next 10 sight word lists over the next couple of weeks.
Remember that we have a 'crunch and sip' vege or fruit snack at around 10am each day. Please send something small in a separate container with your child.
We are beginning to talk and read about the ANZAC's. You may want to have a general talk to you child about the concept of ANZAC day and why it is important for us in Australia.
Monday: Talking day for Sienna, Rueben, Hunter and Annika. Hat making day today please make sure your child has something to work on. A formal assembly will be held in the Library at 9am.
Tuesday: Talking day for Hayden, Sylvan, James, Millie. Gymsports catch up lesson today - please wear sports uniform and joggers.
Wednesday: Talking day for Callan, Max, Oliver and Aston. No canteen this week. This week library will be on today.
Thursday: Talking day for Oscar, Archie, Ruby and Harry. Our CHIME music lesson is at 11.40 today. Hat parade at 2pm under COLA - all welcome to watch. Crazy hair and mufti day to raise money for the Cancer Council. Please send students in with a $2.00 coin each to contribute to this worthy cause.
