Unami United

Welcome Back!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Although our summer days are not yet at an end, the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2nd, is just around the corner. 7th grade and new students to Unami are invited to Discover Unami Day on August 21 from 10am to 11:30. The program will begin with a brief assembly in our auditorium, followed by an opportunity for students to visit their lockers and walk their schedules. We will have plenty of hands on deck to assist 7th graders with opening their lockers for the first time! Students may also visit our cafeteria, library, and gymnasium. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to reconnect with classmates and transition to their new school.

Schedules for 8th and 9th grade students will also be available on August 21. However, schedules will not be available from 10am to 11:30am to ensure that 7th grade and new students have the building to themselves during Discover Unami Hours. All schedules will go on-line in our parent portal beginning Monday, August 25. Due to the ongoing construction in the building, it is unsafe for students to walk the building. We were only able to clear the halls for our Discover Unami hours. Please understand that this is for the safety of our students.

It has been an extremely busy summer at Unami due to the ongoing building renovations! We will have eight newly renovated classrooms, a new conference room, a new roof, along with many improvements to our infrastructure. All renovated rooms will include interactive Smart Boards and improved WIFI capabilities. In order to ensure safety, no tours of the building are available until August 21.

Please see our website or click here to get detailed back to school information.

Enjoy your remaining days of summer. We look forward to seeing everyone on September 2nd!

Mrs. Lang

What is the purpose of summer reading?

The purpose of summer reading is to encourage in each student a lifelong love of reading. By choosing books students will enjoy and by reinforcing and inviting students to cogitate on their reading, we hope to engage and entertain as well as communicate the joys of participating in a lively, interactive community of fellow readers.

In accordance with the Central Bucks School District and the Pennsylvania State Academic Standards, all middle school students in our district are expected to do a significant amount of reading throughout the entire year. The state standard recommends twenty-five books per year.

All students entering grades seven, eight, and nine must read at least two books over the summer. Please click here to see specific summer reading assignments for each grade level.

Health Suite Information--Student Medications

Please be reminded that students may not carry any form of medication. This includes over the counter medication. If your child has any medication needs, please complete a medication dispensing form. Blank medication dispensing forms are available on the district website, www.cbsd.org, under “Parent Resources.” Please look for district information, at the bottom of the page, where you will find “Medical Forms/Forms”.

9/11 Heroes Run

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K and 1 mile race is set for September 7th this year at the Fonthill Museum with a great course through beautiful Doylestown Borough.
