Assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.
2nd Semester Conferences and Scarlet Showcase
We invite all families and students to attend our 2nd semester Conference Night and Scarlet Showcase on Monday, February 10th. This is a great evening to meet your student's 2nd semester teachers and discuss your student's progress in their courses. It also provides you with an opportunity to meet with the teachers of courses your student may be interested in registering for next year. Teachers will be available in their rooms from 3:30 - 5:00 and again from 5:45 - 7:30. During the teachers' break, we encourage all families with students in grades 9-11 to attend the registration meeting in the auditorium. As part of this evening, parents are also invited to attend two informational meetings that will provide insights into registration for next year.
REGISTRATION MEETING (with Counselors)
5:00-5:45pm in the Auditorium
As part of this evening, our counselors will be hosting an informational registration meeting for families with students in grades 9-11 from 5:00 to 5:45 in the auditorium. We hope you will join us for this important meeting to help support your students in making informed decisions when registering for classes for the 2020-21 school year as this not only impacts their futures, but also important staffing decisions in our building.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES INFORMATIONAL MEETING (with AP Teachers)
5:45-6:15pm in the Auditorium
Advanced Placement teachers will be hosting an informational meeting in the cafeteria for parents and students who would like to learn more about AP classes. This meeting will include information about AP myths and realities, course content, and testing information while also allowing for questions with AP teachers. If your student is planning to register for their first AP class or is wondering if an AP class is right for them, you will want to attend this meeting.
AVID INFORMATIONAL MEETING (with AVID Coordinator/Teachers and Students)
7:00-7:30pm in the Cafeteria
AVID teachers and current AVID students will be hosting an informational meeting talking through the purpose and goals of the AVID program as well as what a day/week/year looks like in the world of an AVID student. This meeting is geared toward students and families who have not been a part of the AVID program in the past but received an invitation to join for the 2020-21 school year. The meeting will take place in 2 concurrent parts - an informational parent meeting led by Interim AVID Site Coordinator Kai Sill and a student meeting led by current AVID students talking about their experience. If you have any questions about AVID, this is a great meeting to attend.

Registration for the 2020-21 School Year
With 1st semester in the books, now we turn to 2nd semester and registration for the next school year.
Counselors will be in classrooms supporting students with course registration for the 2020-21 school year through next week. With the registration window closing Thursday, February 13th, now is a good time to be talking with your students about the path they are interested in after high school and discuss course offerings that would help support them in reaching their goals.
Here is our Registration Guide which contains valuable information about both required and elective courses for each grade level along with planning guides designed to help families make informed decisions in their registration choices.
If you have any questions about registration, please attend our registration meeting at 5:00pm on Monday, February 10th or contact your student's counselor.
Naviance Password Reset (Parents Only)
Naviance, our district College and Career Readiness tool, has updated its password requirements for parents. If you are a parent/guardian who has not logged into Naviance yet this year, you will be required to reset your password the next time you log in, starting on January 27th. (Note: If you have logged into Naviance AFTER Dec 16th, your login experience will not change.) Student login access has not changed.
If you need additional support with Naviance or have questions, please reach out to your student's counselor.
