Principal's Message 3/18/22
Spring Break is next week. I wish everyone a safe, restful, and relaxing week. When we all return to school on Monday, March 28, 2022, we will be in our final push to the end of the semester, which includes 8 more weeks for students to complete the final units of study in their classes. Of importance, on April 13, 2022, all 9th and 10th grade students will take a practice SAT, and 11th grade students will take the official SAT. This is a big day for our juniors who have been preparing diligently for this college entrance exam. For students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, AP exams will begin on Monday, May 2, 2022. The semester will end with our Final Exam Schedule on May, 17, 18, and 19. Similar to Semester 1, students who are earning an “A” in any class will earn an “A” in that class and will be exempt from any final assessment. More details will be shared when we return from Spring Break.
In addition to sharing the important academic dates approaching, I want to take the opportunity to acknowledge our students’ efforts thus far second semester. I’ve seen great student effort in the classroom and fantastic student behavior. As the days begin to get warmer, I know students begin to get antsy for summer, but let’s work together to encourage our students to maintain focus for the next 8 weeks to earn the best grades possible. While we ask students to give us their best effort as we close out the 21-22 school year, the partnership we have with parents and guardians remains so very important to provide students with all the support and encouragement they need to finish the semester strong.
Thank you, parents, for all that you do. I appreciate your partnership and am looking forward to a fantastic conclusion to the school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chris Pawelczyk

The City of Zion is looking to replace its five city signs that are placed throughout the community. We are excited to announce that our District 126 students have been invited to partner with the City of Zion to participate in all phases of the project.
The initial phase for this project is calling on District 126 students to help create a new design for these signs. To get the very best design for the city, we are facilitating a contest in which all District 126 students will be eligible to create and submit an original design. The top three designs will each receive a $1,000 prize and present their designs at a May 4th Joint Board Meeting between District 126 and the City of Zion.
Design submissions must be turned in no later than April 15th to Mr. Andrew Stout, Department Head for Career and Technical Programs, at ZBTHS or to Ms. Bonnie Felske, Principal at New Tech. Please see the attached flyer and use the link below for more information and important details.
