Fredericktown Elementary School
Hobby and Career Fair Edition
Hobby and Career Fair
Our school guidance counselor, Melissa White has been hard at work preparing for our first annual Hobby and Career Fair. We will have over 25 professional represented at this event, and it is intended to expose our students to a variety of professions or callings. Additionally, the goal of the fair is to encourage our students to explore a wide variety of interest that one day might lead them to a fulfilling activity or career. Our students will learn from Fredericktown parents and community members about the things they are passionate about. Please be sure to ask you child about the event. This is a school event open only to our students and will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022.

Bingo for Books
We were very excited to have a great turn out for our "Bingo for Books" event. We had over 60 people participate, and it was held in the elementary commons on Wednesday, October 5 from 5:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. Families attending the event had fun. We were also able to build community and partnership and expose our kids to literacy. You can check out the picture below. This ran in conjunction with the Scholastic Book Fair, so families could shop together in the evening. Thanks goes out to the volunteers who helped make this event possible and the Fredericktown Education Association who donated prizes. Additionally, Fredericktown Local Schools receives Federal Title Funds to support our most at risk students in reading and writing. As a school district we are very fortunate to have these resources to support our students. Some of the ways we can help our students is through teacher intervention by way of programs - two of which are Reading Recover and Title Reading support. We qualify for these funds by our free and reduced breakfast and lunch percentage. You can help by making sure you have applied for this program. If you would like an application to see if you are eligible, please contact the elementary office at 740.694.2781.
