MEET THE NEW ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Dear Adams Central Elementary Families,
It is with great joy and excitement that I get to introduce myself as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Adams Central Elementary School. I truly feel honored and blessed to become a member of the school community, which has already given me a warm welcome. I believe that together, we can and will do great things this upcoming school year.
Professionally, I have nineteen years of experience in the field of education in two different school districts (DeKalb County Central United School District and Southwest Allen County Schools). My educational experiences have included teaching 8th grade Language Arts, 5th grade, and reading interventions. I have also spent much of my career as a Literacy Specialist, providing coaching and professional development to teachers in the areas of reading and writing. I have met many wonderful people and have forged many relationships that I value dearly. Every one of these experiences has prepared me for my most exciting endeavor yet!
Outside of the classroom, I have been married to my husband Doug, for 15 years. He is a teacher and the girls’ varsity basketball coach at Adams Central High School. Doug and I have three children between us, with a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, as well. At the beginning of August, we will be welcoming our third grandchild into the world. When we are not at school or coaching, we enjoy spending time at the lake, traveling, watching sports, and being with our kids and grandchildren.
As the new Assistant Principal, it is my goal to carry on the rich tradition of educational excellence that has been the hallmark of Adams Central Community Schools. I will work hard to make sure that everyone who steps through our doors is excited to be here!
It is hard to believe that school is only a month away. I am super excited to meet all the students at Adams Central Elementary. I hope that as you begin attending upcoming school events that you will introduce yourselves. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer! Let’s go JETS!
Sincerely,
Megan Curtis
