Principal's Note

Autumn Greetings Lamar Families!

We are officially into our 2nd nine weeks and I wanted to again thank all of our students, faculty, staff, and families for their efforts to help make this a successful school year!

We are looking forward to continuing to prepare students for the next grade level and in helping them catch up on missed learning from last school year. Parents, you can help with this effort by ensuring that your child has a study space at home, working with your child on their assigned learning, and encouraging them to read at least 20 minutes each night.

You can also go over your child's 1st nine week grade card with them. These will be coming home on Wednesday and need to be signed and brought back. They are also available digitally via Parent Portal. Below is that link. Visit the office if you need log in help.

Finally, you can set up a time to meet with your child's teacher at Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday, October 14 between 11 AM and 6 PM. Conferences can be in person or virtual. Feel free to reach out to the school at 423-753-1130 to request a meeting with your child's teacher(s) to discuss their progress.

Looking forward to a fantastic nine weeks!

Mark Merriman, Principal
