JOIN US: SATURDAY MARCH 2, 2013 6:30 p.m- 9:30 p.m
Imam Siraj Wahhaj and Sr. Yasmin Mogahed will join ICNA Relief Boston in Support of the Amal Women's Center; Transitional Housing for Women and Children.
ICNA Relief USA is pleased to announce the development of the first Transitional Housing Program for Women and Children in Massachusetts. The home will be called the Amal (Hope) Women’s Center which is befitting considering the property’s former resident; Br. Malik El-Shabaz (Malcolm X) who briefly resided in the home. The property located at 37 Intervale Street in Dorchester, MA is owned by neighboring Masjid Al-Quran, one of the oldest Mosques in the metro Boston area. The neighborhood is one rich in culture and historical perseverance. It boasts a rich heritage which ICNA Relief seeks to honor by developing programming which celebrates the cultural diversity of the community while paying homage to the historical greats who passed through the doors of the planned Amal Women’s Center.
