    • Wednesday, November 27th is an Optional Workday. If you plan to be off that day, please proceed with putting in Aesop or turn in your electronic NCE time form (certified staff). Please mark no sub needed when you enter it into Aesop.

    • The building will be open on November 27th from 7:00 - 3:30. If you plan to work that day, please plan to be out by 3:25. We will not have the front office open for families.

  • IStation Level Descriptions: When we began using Istation's reports, students were placed into tiers. Since Istation now places students into 5 performance levels, here's a graphic showing the correlation between performance levels and tiers. Please look over this before we have our PLCs next week!

  • IStation Progress Monitoring:

    • Please remember to have students very focused when you are administering IStation each month. Students should not be eating snacks, near friends, or rushed for time. Teachers should be actively monitoring the small group of students who are assessing and reminding them to stay on task. Please make sure you are administering IStation in testing like conditions, stressing urgency and attention since questions are timed. We can not use this data if students are not taking the assessment seriously.

    • It would be helpful to i/e teachers if homeroom teachers did their monthly progress monitoring at the beginning of the month. The on demand assessments that i/e teachers are assigning will not show up for the student until the whole ISIP test is done first. We would like to begin this process in December. Please add it to your PLC agendas to discuss.

  • Revisiting Tier 2/Tier 3 Intervention Groupings at PLCs: Grades K-3 PLC’s decided when we began I/E that it was important to look at growth and revisit I/E groupings in November. Homeroom teachers and i/e teachers, please ensure you have all IStation/STAR progress monitoring done before your PLC. We have switched some PLCs in order to have Darlene join us. If you work with these grade levels during i/e time please plan on attending the following PLCs:

    • Kindergarten 11/19 @ 1:00

    • First grade 11/19 @ 2:10

    • Second grade 11/19 @ 12:00

    • Third grade 11/22 @ 9:10

Jaguar Dress Up - If you are interested in earning NCE time and wearing the Jaguar costume in the Siler City Christmas Parade...please see Carla! : )

Consider how you can encourage students to read at school!

Don't forget Mrs. Crankshaw is in the media center each morning from 7:35 - 8:00 so students K-5 can check in/out books!

PLEASE encourage students to READ!!!
