Duties and responsibilities of being a baker include getting up early to prepare the foods for the day, having a daily special which most customers expect, cleaning up, ordering ingredients, and being able to work efficiently. A self employed baker can work as much as 16-17 hours a day. If employed, working is 8 hours a day or depends on how many others are employed. Working locations will ideal in a local town where you get customers regularly. A regular salary will range from $8.00 to $13.50 an hour and about $15,500-$19.500 a year

A high school diploma or a G.E.D is usually not needed, but it will definitely help your chances.
The Skills Required
Bakers need to be able to do math for any sort of fractions and recipe conversions they might need to do. They also need to be good at communicating with customers and fellow employees. Bakers also need to be able to combine ingredients to make some new flavors. They also need to be creative at decorating cakes
