Riley
Hello everyone,
This is Giang Du and I go by “Riley”. It is such a great opportunity to work, communicate and sharing ideas with Chardin Collegium Community. Even though this is just the first time I have worked here at Seattle University, I feel that Chardin members are very welcoming and friendly. You guys bring a lot of meaningful moments to my life at Seattle University.
FYI, my major is Computer Science and Finance minor. Therefore, I can talk about science, math, algorithms and even economics, stocks and bonds. Also, I love playing computer games (it is because I do not have PS4 or Xbox ha-ha !! ). My favorite games are Counter Strike Source, SMITE (too bad to LOL fan) and Minecraft (You should not try or you will be addicted). I usually cook my meal every single day. Thus I expect every meal I have has to be cooked to the perfection. Sushi and sashimi are my favorite food too. You can think of two places that you can have the best sushi: Japonessa in Downtown Seattle and Kisaku in Wallingford. They are quite expensive ($20-$30/ person) but you will not regret.
I think I will go hiking this spring. It has been around a year since the last time I went hiking. The best place and longest trail I have experienced is Snow Lake. I did hike around 19 miles that day and it took me around more than 8 hours to finish the trail. However, the view in Snow Lake are spectacularly stunning. So, you can challenge yourself to hike in Snow Lake.
If you are playing LOL, change to SMITE and I will show you how it is better. If you want to talk about economics, I am here and if you need some ideas about your next cooking dish, I am so happy to talk to you. I also love to hearing from you about what you are going to do this spring.

Spring Time Activities
Hey everyone, this is Liang. I’m the new Chardin CCL starting from this spring quarter. I came from Shanghai China three years ago. Now I’m a graduate student in the master of professional accounting program in Albers at Seattle U. My undergraduate major, which was taken in Shanghai, was English and Literature with Economics as minor.
I used to be a middle school teacher teaching English for several years in shanghai. I liked teaching where you get to know people by listening and talking to them. I hope my students liked me in the same way I did, regardless of how strict I was. Yeah, that’s my hope.
I have been in the States for almost three years and Seattle has been my first stop. I love Seattle for its diversity and the fact that it is not only evergreen but also colorful in different seasons. In spring, I enjoy walking through my neighborhood exploring different species of trees and flowers. They are so different from those in Asia. Therefore, one of my spring project would be to something to my little front garden. I’d like to plant flowers around my lovely cherry tree. I was told that it was late to do so for this year, so I will probably make it my next spring project. Besides, I’d like to put up a honeybird drinking box on the cherry tree in the hope to attract some honeybirds. They are those tiny tiny bee-like birds who like to drink sweet water.
The other spring project for me is that I want to resume my work out plan. I live in Kirkland where there is a gorgeous corridor called Kirkland Corridor close to where I live. It was transferred to a corridor for people to hike from a rail trail. My goal is to achieve the half marathon after six months. I am very excited about this. If you are also interested in running, please do talk to me about it. It will be fun to share our experiences and tips. I know it seems ambitious to run a marathon.

Chloe
Hello Chardin members!
I love spring time! It’s so great to see the blooming flowers, the brilliant green, and the sunshine all day long! It’s also great because I can start running again outside and planting my vegetable garden.
This weekend I’m going to try to hit Alki Beach and the Skagit Valley tulip farms. They are absolutely beautiful all April! Tomorrow Alki will have a low-ish tide at 11 am so all the little sea critters will be visible.
This year I will be planting peas, salad, beets, spinach, beans, zucchini, and lots and lots of strawberries in my little dirt patch in my backyard. If you need any tips on how to grow these plants, just ask me!
This is going to be a good quarter: seniors, just hang in there a bit longer! And remember to get out and enjoy the weather a bit.

Spring Time Activities
Hey all! Connor here and I wanted to share with you some of the things I like to do in the spring. Many of you probably don’t know this, but spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I hate the heat and the cold, and spring is somewhat temperate.
This spring, I have two goals that I am endeavoring to complete: completing the refurbishment of my bicycle and upgrading my computer. Recently, my best friend got me into mountain biking/cross country biking. My bike was not super equipped for the kind of terrain we were going over and…ran into some technical difficulties. So, I am replacing the brakes, the wheelset, and hopefully the fork. If you have any advice for a amateur biking enthusiast, please let me know!
A lot of you probably already know this about me, but I am a gamer and computing hobbyist. Two years ago, I built my first computer named Marvin. Marvin is great, however his graphics card needs replacing. So I am planning on buying him a new card and also a water cooling system (because they look super fancy. If you haven’t seen them, look them up – they look SO COOL.)
If any of you are ever interested in buying a new computer or building a computer, feel free to come to me! I am always happy to give advice. Unfortunately, I will never advise a person to buy a mac…sorry in advance.
I am interested to hear what you all like about the spring!
