Our Mission

The mission of Mission Vista Academy is to develop the individual gifts of students in Riverside County and adjacent counties to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and innovative leaders prepared for academic and real-life achievement in the 21st Century. Schoolwide Learner Outcomes

At Mission Vista Academy, we have goals for our students that are known as Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs). SLOs are a part of our school culture: they reflect our school vision, the College and Career Readiness Standards, and the education of the whole child.

Sharing the Homeschool Heart

Happy Last Week of School!

Every school year brings new challenges and opportunities to not only learn more about our children but to learn more about ourselves. Even though this year has been filled with obstacles, our children are still happy, healthy, and EDUCATED! Too many times in the past few months, I have told myself, “I don’t know how we are going to get through this.” But guess what? Our family made it through the year, and so did yours! The last week of school is the perfect time to reflect on all the good things that happened during the year. Maybe your family went on an amazing field trip together, or your oldest FINALLY graduated High School! Maybe your child learned a new sport, took voice lessons or learned how to play the piano. How amazing is it that you got to see your student grow and change each day. What a blessing it is that you get to witness each “lightbulb” moment and help them realize their potential.

When my daughters were in the traditional public school classroom, I never had the opportunity to be part of their learning experiences or got to enjoy the many fun activities they participated in during the end of the school year. Now, I am the one planning our last week of school and how we will spend it! I feel so blessed to be able to ask my girls, “What would you like to do this week?” How great is it that we get to plan and spend our last week together?! Homeschooling provides just that…togetherness. Cherish this last week with your children; sleep in, play in the sprinklers, or take a family hike. Make the most of your time together and create new memories!

Happy last week of school to all of our students, home educators, and staff! We cant wait to hear how you celebrate!

Audrey Everson

Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 11 to 7 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 17 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 8 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Mission Vista Academy, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!

Robi Frederick

Hi there! I am a mom of two girls, 10 and 11 years old, and have been homeschooling from the start. I am also the wife of a very supportive hubby of almost 14 years. We are raising our children in the Coachella Valley and excited to see how the homeschooling community has grown in our area, as well as the resources. I am very grateful that I have this opportunity to homeschool my children. I love to help and encourage families and assist in building our homeschooling resources in the Desert Area.

Andrea Hart
