Shout Outs
- T. Peneva and F. Bulgozdy for their planning and preparation of our 2019 Winter conference. Both our strings students and performing arts students put on an amazing production. Additional thanks to our related arts team for their contributions to the program as well.
- B. Reed's and H. Plemmons 3rd grade classes. After after recently launching a unit on landforms they were able to connect with Innovations Charter School in Hawaii (thanks H. Mills). Our third graders learned via Facetime from their peers on the big island and the impact of landforms in Hawaii.
- B. Gantt, C. Graham, M. Reid, K. Kirkindoll, A. Berkley and any others that I may not be aware of that assisted with all things Winter MAP testing.
- Beverly Derrick on the arrival of her first grandchild...a baby girl on December 19th.
Food for thought
So I came across a recent EDCHAT for those who have Twitter accounts. An EDCHAT allows educators across the country and locally to participate in dialogue and discussion on improving our craft. The following questions were posed for discussion (1/2/20) as most educators return for the start of the 2020 calendar year:
- How are you planning to roar into the 2020's professionally?
- Who is someone than can support you in your plan?
- What is a roadblock you may need to overcome as we finish the school year and also start a new decade?
- What lesson can be learned from that roadblock?
- What is your first plan for self-care as we head back to school/classes?
