Week in Review!
Amid all of the fun we did a lot of academics. In mathematics, we completed a review of place value, rounding and front-end estimation using leading numbers from Chapters 1 and 2. We also completed Chapter 3: Addition of multi-digit numbers. Our test will be on Wednesday, October 21st. We continue to assess multiplication facts. Great job so far! Keep studying!
Students are doing a fabulous job with spelling and word study. Please keep studying Physical Science Vocabulary on Spellingcity.com. You can always check your test grade online also!
Physical Science will last a couple of more weeks. We have been studying "Matter" including the properties and states of matter. This coming week we will be learning about Motion, Force, Sound, Simple Machines and Energy! There may be "some" science homework this week!
Students have completed their reading of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. They will be finishing up their project choice and then sharing. We have completed quite a bit of our language arts learning standards while working with our novel. I don't think the students realized how much they were learning while enjoying a classic. We have had class discussions and independent work revolving around character traits/webs, Venn Diagrams, and Sequencing. Thanks to one of our students, we were able to watch the movie of the novel and make great comparisons between the two.
