PTO Spirit Night at Mellow Mushroom

The Spring Book Fair is Almost Here!
Our spring book fair is right around the corner on April 17-21! Students will preview the book fair and also shop with their class. However, we will also offer two Family Nights at the Book Fair on April 20-21 from 4:30-6PM before the Lion King performances. You may also shop online from April 17-21. Please see the info below as well as the information your child brings home.

Spring Book Fair Volunteers Needed!
Our fall book fair was a great success. Our Nighthawks loved it! But we need your help to make this happen again. If you are able to volunteer for a shift, or even part of a shift, please sign up here!
After Family Night at the Book Fair, Stay to See Lion King Kids!

Milestone Testing Information
Georgia Milestones End of Grade (EOG) Assessments will take place for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at the end of April and beginning of May. Please make sure your children attend school on these days to avoid having to make-up the tests at another time.
During testing days, there will be no classroom or media center volunteers or lunch visitors. Thank you!

Notes from Nurse G
Your child’s health and safety, both physical and mental, are very important to us at New Hope Elementary School. The CDC and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta both encourage outside recess as a part of their health promotion and to help increase classroom concentration. Weather permitting, each class goes outside for 30 minutes of recess daily. If your child has a chronic condition (including seasonal allergies) that would prevent them from participating in their usual class routine, a physician’s note will be needed. When a physician’s note is received, stating a child may not participate in outdoor activities, please be mindful that would also include Field Day or any other outdoor class activities.
The form to be completed by your physician can be found on the New Hope Elementary web page. Click on School Nurse under the Student Services Tab, then on the left-hand side, click Health Forms. The needed form is titled, Individualized Health Care Plan. Once the form is completed by you and your child’s physician, please send it in with your student.
Please make sure your student, especially our older grades, has a change of clothes in their backpack. We often have students who have fallen in the mud, spilled a drink on themselves, had a nosebleed or have had an accident and are requesting a change of clothes. The clinic has a very small number of long sleeve shirts and pants, and are lacking the size 5-7 range. Please consider donating outgrown clothing to the New Hope Clinic.
As always, thank you for your support!
