Mme Simone's Wellness Corner
With "Shark Music", we rarely know it is playing but it is our past experiences that are telling us to be afraid or uncomfortable with a feeling or a need that is actually safe. When adults are uncomfortable with a feeling or need, children learn to adapt by hiding a feeling, experience or a need. Most adults experience shark music with a least one feeling, so you are not alone. Simple awareness around when it a triggered feeling is important and is the first and important step. Shark Music doesn't define our ability to parent and sometimes naming it "that's my shark music" can stop our reactions and then mindfully redirect our energy to "being with" our children and their experiences.
