Kindergarten-Second Grade Books and Beyond Reading Incentive Program
Our 2015-2016 Books and Beyond: Reading Monsters kicked off two weeks ago. Each student in grades K-2 received a folder with a parent letter of welcome and instructions along with a book. This is a recreational reading incentive program. Students and their parents are encouraged to read together each night and keep a reading log. When the log is filled with 24 titles return it to school to earn a necklace and reading charms. (It is the students’ responsibility to keep up with their necklaces and charms – no replacements will be issued. ) When a child completes their 5th, 10th, and 15th sheet they also earn a reading medal at the Top Dawg assemblies.
