Aquin Presents '42nd Street' this Weekend!

Showtimes are 7:00 on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15. Sunday, March 16th’s performance will be held at 2:00. Tickets are available at the Aquin High School office at 1419 South Galena during school hours. Ticket prices are $7 Adults, $5 Students and Seniors. Tickets can also be purchased at the door before the performance. If you have any questions, please call Peg at 815.235.3154 x 224.

Come out and be treated to a wonderful show created by months of hard work by our Aquin students and staff.

We Still Need Belts!

If anyone has extra belts (boys size 10 to adult) please send them to the Student Office. Our supply has dwindled down to 5 from about 30 at the beginning of this school year. Students must wear a belt daily and we keep a supply for 'loaning' if they come to school without one. When students "borrow" from the office, however, they often forget to return the belt. If you have some belts at home that don't look like yours (or some that you don't use), please send them in to the office and we'll put them to good use. Thanks!

Play Ball---soon!

Baseball and Softball practices have begun and pocket schedules are ready in the Aquin offices. Stop in and pick yours up--but have a pencil ready. We're guessing there will be a lot of 'reschedules' in the future.

Also, the schedules reflect the new Conference scheduling system. The Baseball and Softball teams will be playing the sames teams twice in the same week and on the same days and in the same towns.

Confused? Let's use the week of April 6-12 when Aquin plays Dakota as an example.

  • April 8 . Baseball plays Dakota at Highland. Softball plays Dakota at Read Park.
  • April 10 . Baseball plays Dakota at Dakota. Softball plays Dakota at Dakota.

Note: The Fresh-Soph Baseball team will still be playing in the opposite location as the Varsity (home when Varsity away, away when Varsity home). The Softball team will have 'extra innings' for the 'Fresh-Soph' players after the Varsity contest as time and light allows.

If you're still confused, check the web calendar. It is your best resource to keep current on the schedules.

GO DAWGS!

You did a great job to 'Spread the Word'!

On Sunday, we hosted our 1st ever ‘Play with the Dawgs’, at our St. Joe's Campus. We had 16 interested families (and 2 'alumni' visitors who walked down memory lane) take the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, explore hallways and get a personal welcome from Conley, the Aquin Bulldog. All visiting families received a free ‘dawgie bag’ filled with fun learning resources and information on how they can excel in our Christian learning environment.

We opened online registration yesterday and already have 11 new students registered over both campuses--5 of whom visited on Sunday!

Thank you to all those who talked with co-workers and friends about Aquin--and encouraged them to attend on Sunday. You truly are our best marketers of our schools.

If you know of other families who are interested in joining our Aquin family, please encourage them to call either campus office, or go to our 'New Student Inquiry' page and complete the form there. We'll contact them and arrange a time for them to visit.

Keep up the great work!

Aquin staff will also be at the St. Mary's Festival of Faith on Sunday, March 16 from 2:00-5:00pm. We will be available to speak with interested families there, amid food and fun at the St. Mary Holy Family Community Center (the old St. Mary School building at 725 S. State).
