Teacher Appreciation 2015

Straight From the Mouth of Your Students

As a teacher there are often moments of frustration, it is at these times that it helps to remember why we do what we do each and every day. In college a professor had me start a folder in which I keep special notes and mementos from all the students I've come in contact with throughout the years. This folder makes me smile when I feel like crying. It makes me willing to face the next day with a fresh perspective. This folder keeps me anchored. I hope these video clips can go into your folder. As I watched these videos being taken, I can't tell you the number of times goosebumps were on my arm. You are each making a difference in so many lives. Thank you for all that you do!

With much respect,

Melissa

Dear Lions,

I want to take the time to thank you for doing the most important work of all; educating and taking such great care of every one of our 775 students. I want to thank you for your willingness to work long hours for modest pay and minimal status when you could be making more money with less stress and greater prestige. Thank you for trying to figure out every day and somehow meeting the needs of so many different learners. Thank you for extending yourself far beyond a “teacher’s” job description to help and to mentor your students both in and out of the classroom. Thank you for loving and caring for the ones who are hard to love because they make your days challenging or sometimes even difficult. Thank you for having the patience, courage and humility to deal with parents when they are difficult or unreasonable. Thank you for emphasizing and valuing the importance of an education and a modeling a commitment to life-long learning to all of our students.

Most importantly, thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do to create a better world and a better future. There is NO other profession that so directly impacts and shapes the world around us. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and would like you to know that my appreciation and admiration for you and your work will never end!

With Great Pride,

Doug

About the Director

Special thanks goes to Trevor Turpin in Ms. Brewer's classroom. He assisted Mrs. Armbruster in collecting the video recordings for the movies. Trevor showed great responsibility in this job. He did an excellent job capturing the magic!
