Parent Blast - November 29, 2021

December Updates and Activities

Thank you families for your support and participation during parent-teacher conferences last week! It was great to have a few minutes to connect and share successes and goals for each of our students. Special shout out to the Booster Club, parent volunteers and family donations for our staff dinner - we appreciated it so much!

Last week the Oregon Department of Education and HSD shared some updates to our COVID protocols that went into effect today:

  • Masks are now optional outdoors - this includes arrival, dismissal and recess times. We will be asking students to put masks back on when they line up at the end of recess and gather close together again.
  • Fully vaccinated students that are deemed close contacts at school will not have to quarantine if they do not have any signs or symptoms.
  • Unvaccinated students that are deemed close contacts at school can shorten their quarantine time to 7 days if they take a COVID test between days 5-7 and the result is negative.

Picture Re-Take Day

Our picture re-take day is scheduled for this Friday, December 3rd. If your child missed picture day, you can plan to take pictures that day.

Here to serve,

Jamie Lentz

In-District Transfer/Continuation Requests

The priority window for requesting a new or continuation transfer for the 2022-23 school year will be January 2022. Information will be mailed to all families of students currently on one year-only transfers in December letting them know about the opportunity.

While we hope to keep all of our Panthers at Patterson each year, we continue to prioritize the students who live within our boundary. Decisions are based on class size/space first and then attendance (including tardies) and behavior second. Often times we need to delay decisions until we have better enrollment numbers and considerations will be based on the order transfers are received.

Volunteers will need to wear a mask and maintain 6' distancing. Once you are all cleared and scheduled to come into the building, please make sure you sign in/out at our computer just inside our main doors.

ParentVUE Reminder

Activate your ParentVUE account!

ParentVUE is a tool for parents to access real-time information related to their student’s education progress. You can view your student’s schedule, attendance, grades, assignments and more. ParentVUE is also used on an annual basis at the start of each school year to verify student and family information. One parent/guardian from each family will be expected to complete the verification process. Keeping your family’s information up to date is crucial to receiving communication from the Hillsboro School District, as well as attendance and emergency notifications. Click here to login to your ParentVUE account for the first time. This one account will give you access to all of your children in the Hillsboro School District. At least one parent/guardian in each family should activate a ParentVUE account. ParentVUE mobile app is available for download from the iTunes Store and Google Play. Please contact your student's school if you have any questions.
