Backstory
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Westomoreland County, Virginia. He was born into a planter family. His father died with he was 11 and his older brother raised him. From boyhood on he lived in a military atmosphere most of the time. Under his brothers influence and direction he was trained in fencing.
His time in the continental army
George Washington took control of the continental army when they were low on supplies and soldiers were dying quickly of disease. He had Marquis de Lafayette train his soldiers and then he led the army through key success points.
