Also, congratulations to the cast, crew, and musicians for "Crazy For You" on a terrific run this past weekend! I was very impressed with the entire production!
I'm looking forward to our first concert of the school year this coming Thursday! Please make sure that all formal wear is cleaned, pressed, and ready to go for this first performance.
And, finally, remember that there is no school this coming Friday and no football game! A much-deserved break as we enter into the final two weeks of the marching band season!

BUTTER BRAID ORDERS PAST DUE!
Any outstanding Butter Braid orders must be turned-in to the Band Office on Monday morning before First Period. For our 9th grade students - this means that you must bring your order in to the Main Campus before leaving for the Ninth Grade Center.
MARCHING BAND UNIFORM CLEANING - OCTOBER 23
With Marching MPA right around the corner, it’s time to clean all of our Marching Band uniforms, and we need a lot of volunteers. Please stop by the Band Room on Tuesday, October 23 and pick up a set of 10 or 20 uniforms. For every ten uniforms cleaned and returned, your student's account will receive a credit of $5.00. Mary Bernard will provide the directions, pods, softener sheets, and student information sheets for this to make it as easy as possible. With Senior Night on November 2, we will need all uniforms returned on Tuesday October 30 during or after Marching Band rehearsal.
FALL BAND CONCERT - OCTOBER 25
Our first Band concert of the school year is this coming Thursday, October 25 in the WPHS Auditorium. The concert start time is 7:00 PM, and the call-time for all students is 6:30 PM - dressed and ready to perform. It is expected that students are fully dressed, warmed-up, and ready to perform at that 6:30 PM call-time. Late students will have their grade lowered.
There will be a refreshments provided after the concert by our Provisions parents, but we are looking for some parent volunteers to help with set-up, serving ,and clean-up. If you can offer some time, please sign-up HERE.
FALL ORCHESTRA CONCERT - OCTOBER 29
Due to the double-booking the Auditorium on top of the Fall Orchestra Concert, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, it has now been moved to Monday, October 29 at 7:00 PM. This is for all Wind Symphony winds and percussion who perform as part of the Park Philharmonic. This is extra-credit for all Band students!
TRUNK R' TREAT - OCTOBER 30
The Marching Band's annual "Trunk R' Treat" will be held after rehearsal on Tuesday, October 30 at 5:00 PM in D-Lot. Students are able to wear costumes to the rehearsal (rehearsal-appropriate), and parents are encouraged to line-up their cars, decorate your car trunks, and pass out candy after rehearsal. More information to come!
"SENIOR NIGHT" FOOTBALL GAME - NOVEMBER 2
The final regular home football game of the season on Friday, November 2 is also "Senior Night." As in the past, all of our Sound of the Wildcats seniors and their parents will be recognized during the game. Unlike in the past, however, plans are underway to have this recognition happen during pregame - alongside the football team and cheerleader seniors. More information to come in the very near future, but please mark your calendars now!
MARCHING BAND MPA - NOVEMBER 3
The Marching Band will be performing at Marching MPA on Saturday, November 3. MPA is hosted at University High School, and the Marching Band's performance time is 4:30 PM. The itinerary can be found HERE.
DEFINITE PLAY-OFF GAME - NOVEMBER 9
We now know that there will be a play-off game on Friday, November 9, and it will be played at home. If you have a pre-existing conflict with that evening, please e-mail both Mr. Blackmer and Mr. Clemente by the end of this week.
SOLO & ENSEMBLE REGISTRATION
Registration for Solo & Ensemble MPA is now up and available through the Band website. It is never too early to begin forming ensembles and selecting music for S&E MPA. Also, if you are going to prepare a solo for S&E MPA, be sure to lock-down your accompanist immediately! The deadline for S&E MPA registration is Friday, November 9 at 2:30 PM. Also, if you want the Band Program to purchase music for your event, those orders are due no later than Monday, December 3 at 2:30 PM.
Please make sure that we are paying Band Fees in a timely manner! If you have financial constraints that are preventing you from making your Band fee schedule, please contact Mr. Blackmer directly so that arrangements and/or a payment plan can be made. In addition to this, make sure that you are actively participating in our fundraisers. These are specifically created to alleviate our fees, but you need to take advantage of them! If you have questions regarding which fees are due and when, please go to our website for the Financial Obligations PDFs.
