Wolf Creek Weekly
Building Pathways To Success
From The Principal's Desk
Greetings!
Thanks for another successful week! I hope your weekend was restful and you are ready for and outstanding week ahead!
The BIG day is here! Solar Eclipse. Please see all correspondences we have sent home regarding this educational experience for our students. Students that have not returned a permission slip will be unable to participate in the outside viewing of the eclipse. You may send them in the morning, if you have not already done so. Reference the Friday correspondence to see the details of how all classes are participating and the select grades and classes participating in the actual outside viewing.
Please check the school website often. We update the site regularly. The school calendar, handbooks, PTA and SGC information can be found there.
We are looking forward to a great week!
Thanks for all you do! Let's Go Wolves!
In Partnership,
Principal Glass
Solar Eclispe Parent Letter
From Fulton County Schools:
Dear Parents,
On Monday, August 21, at approximately 2:35 p.m. the metro Atlanta area will experience a 98% solar eclipse. This is an exciting and significant event from both an instructional and a safety perspective.
Schools are busy preparing their lessons for that day, with some opting to conduct controlled, adult-supervised outdoor viewing activities while others may elect to use the indoor technology resources available to them, such as the NASA website or other STEM-related materials, to watch the moon pass over the sun.
Regardless of how your school participates, it is essential that all Fulton County students, parents, and staff understand the safety concerns. We recognize the excitement surrounding this event and have put in place some safety protocols as well as special attendance/check-out procedures and dismissal times for that day.
Consent Form for Outdoor Activities
For schools conducting outdoor experiences, your child will receive a special consent form for you to sign and acknowledge their safety risk with viewing a near-total solar eclipse. Your school will have safeguards in place, which may include eclipse viewing glasses for students, but your consent is still required. Students who do not have a signed consent form on file for this activity will be provided a different indoor instructional activity related to the eclipse.
Student Absence/Early Check-out
All student absences and/or early check-outs on this day will be counted as excused. Parents who wish to pick up their students are requested to do so before 12:30 p.m. so that there is ample time to get safely home or to an eclipse viewing location. From start to finish, the event is expected to last approximately three hours, with the actual eclipse occurring around 2:35 p.m., which is why we have established the 12:30 p.m. check-out time.
Delayed Dismissal for Elementary Schools
Although Atlanta will not experience a total eclipse, the darkest part of the event is scheduled to occur during the dismissal process of elementary school students. As a result, Fulton County Schools is delaying release of elementary school students until 3:05 p.m. For the majority of our elementary schools, this is a 45-minute delay. Middle and high school buses also will experience delays due to the delay in elementary dismissal. Middle and high school walkers, car riders, and drivers will dismiss according to their normal schedules.
Fulton County Schools is excited to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. To help our parents understand its impact, we are including information about the eclipse’s scientific significance as well as safety information.
You can also visit the school system’s website, www.fultonschools.org, for more information about the eclipse. We want you and your family to be well informed and safe as you consider your participation in this event.
Sincerely,
Fulton County Schools
We are a Leader In Me School!

Uniforms! Thanks for your participation.
Safety First!
Thanks for your support during the first few weeks of school! Traffic is moving more seamlessly. Thanks for working with us to ensure safety for the students.
We still need your patience and support as we execute the morning drop off process. The cafeteria doors close at 7:35 AM each morning. Breakfast ends at that time. Students are tardy at 7:41 AM. Parents are asked to sign their children in and get a tardy pass prior to reporting to class. Parents who wish to walk their child to class must also sign in at the front desk.
Please help us by using the car rider loop in the front of the building for all student drop-offs in the mornings. The car rider loop moves fast but it does require some wait time and patience. This is the safest area for student drop offs. We have assigned staff to support students as they get out of cars. The bus ramp in the back is reserved for buses only. If parents are using the parking lot near the bus ramp area for parking, they are asked to park their vehicles and escort their child into the building. Students should not be dropped off and allowed to run across the bus ramp to enter the building. We want students to be safe. We had a few cars moving fairly fast in this area. This is a safety concern. Remember, the doors open at 7:10 AM for student arrival. Thanks in advance for your support. If we have parents that can volunteer in the bus ramp area, please let us know. We could use the extra hands and eyes to ensure safety for the students.
Thanks for your support!

What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and state academic assessments.

Our Title 1 funds have afforded us the opportunities to:
Host Extended Learning Program for at risk students

Add teachers and a Parent Liaison to the staff
Purchase classroom resources to enhance learning for all students
