John Davison Rockefeller
What: He made first oil refinery in 1870 near Cleveland. By 1882 he had almost made his monopoly business.Monopoly Business; the only company that has a specific product not sold anywhere else that people need everyday. He also got really interested in philanthropy,; philanthropy is having sympathy for others welfare, and giving money to good causes.
When: He was born on July 8, 1839 in Richford, New York. Then he made his first oil refinery in 1870, and by 1882 he .
Where:born in Rich-ford,New York. Built first oil industry near Cleveland,and died in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Why:this is an important thing to study because, it encouraged the invention of the automobile. Since we use the invention of the car every day that means that we needed oil. In conclusion without oil ,cars would have no purpose because oil is gasoline that powers our cars to this day.
Thomas Alva Edison
What: Born on February 11,1847,in Milan Ohio.He was famous for making over a 1000 inventions including, the telegraph,phonograph,and the electric light bulb. He died on October 18,1931, in west orange, New Jersey.
When:Born February 11, 1847. He died on October 18, 1931.
Where: He was born in Milan Ohio,and had his first and only lab in Menlo park. He sadly died on October 18, 1931 in West Orange, New Jersey at the age of 84.
Why: this is important to know because, he made the light bulb, telegraph (Internet or texting), phonograph( music player), all stuff we use today is thanks to Thomas Edison.
Samuel Gompers
What: He was born on January 27, 1850 and founded the AFL or (American Federation of Labor).He worked as the president for the AFL. He worked in that spot from 1886-1895 he also made cigars. He died on December 13, 1924.

Where: Born in London ,England, and died from complications related to diabetes, heart failure and renal failure in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74 on December 13, 1924. He founded the AFL in Canada, especially in Ontario.
Why: He is important because, he made cigars which are bad for other because of their harmful smoke. He also founded the AFL focused on securing for its members higher wages, better working conditions, and a shorter work week.
Chinese laborors
Who: Chinese laborers(random people)
What: The Chinese laborers started coming to America during the 1850's in Florida, they were pushed over by over population and poverty in their homeland. Later on when the Chinese needed jobs they got five year job stints as fisherman and mines and some even worked on the railroads. They started coming to America after the Chinese act was passed that let them stay for ten years, after it ran up America renewed it for another ten year and after that the put it on continuously. So from there on the Chinese immigrants could stay in America for as long as they want, but only 115 were aloud in every year.
When: This was all happening during the 19th century or the (industrial age) around 1850 and on.
Where: They all came to Florida, America around 1850 and spread from there.
Why: This is important to know because, it is good to know how all of the cultures America has came from. They also worked very hard on railroads whenever they got the chance to work on the masking some of the railways we know today.
