Mrs. Menta's Message

Hello Craddock families!

I hope you had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend, spending some time with family and/or friends. It was a much quieter one for my house, as my youngest fractured his shoulder last week and had surgery. He is doing remarkably well and will be back in action in no time, but for now, the calendar of events has cleared!

We are on the back end of our fall benchmarking period. I cannot thank our entire staff enough for being patient and flexible as we tackled this large, but very important job. We had so many staff members dedicate endless hours to supporting fall assessments and I couldn't be more grateful.

As a quick reminder, please do not use Willard when picking up your child from school. There have been days where the back up there has caused issues with our buses getting out and on the road. We have 19 buses this year and getting them loaded and out of Craddock quickly is pivotal, as they then go to Leighton and Miller. Thank you for your help!

Have a wonderful week! Please consider coming to see Mr. Roberto at the Conference Center on Wednesday, 9/07 at 7:00 p.m. to provide input on the tentative new construction project. It will be very informative.

We cannot wait to see all of our 1st and 2nd grade friends back in the halls of Craddock tomorrow! Have a fantastic week ahead and as always, don't hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns or feedback.

Sincerely,

Kim Menta

Car Rider Protocol - IMPORTANT!

Many thanks for your patience as we get things up and running. It will take us a few weeks to run at optimal speed. We will work daily to fix, modify and adapt things to be as efficient as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated by all our staff.

Students can be dropped off at 8:40 a.m. at the earliest! Please do not allow them to exit your car until that time, as there is no staff to monitor them. Pick up will begin promptly at 3:10 each day. If everyone knows the system and cooperates, we will have all students in cars in 15-20 minutes.

Here are some things I need all car rider families to do, which will help immensely.

  • Please do not use Willard to line up for drop off or pick up. We are working with the police to get it blocked off, but in the meantime, please avoid it. Enter Hurd Road off of New Hudson and begin lining up there. Please see the map below for guidance.
  • Parents are not permitted to get out of their car when dropping off or picking up their child(ren). It is one of the main reasons the flow of traffic slows down. If you need to do that, you must pull into a marked parking spot. Again, we ask you don't do it at all. We have plenty of staff available to help your child in or out safely.
  • All students must exit their car on the passenger side of the vehicle. We understand this can be tricky with child locks and car seats, but it is in the best interest of all our car riders to have it be this way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
  • We are not permitting people to turn left into the school from Hurd Road. You will be asked to continue down Hurd, turn around and join the end of the line.
  • We ask that you please respect the guidelines we have set up and follow them consistently. Everyone involved in the car rider process, staff and parents, thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to review this message. Take care and GO GREENMEN!

A Message from Our School Counselor, Mrs. Ambrosia!

Hello Craddock! I am honored to be your child’s school counselor for the 2022-2023 school year. I am available to support students, families and staff with any social-emotional, academic and believe it or not- career exploration which at Craddock may be focusing on student strengths! There is no question too small to contact me about. I encourage and welcome open-communication as we all have the same goal: school success for your students!

During the school day, I will provide individual counseling, small group counseling and classroom guidance lessons. Initially, I will ensure that all students transition from summer break to their school day with ease. My first visit to classrooms will allow the students to become more familiar with me and explain how I can help them during the day.

The 2022-2023 school year will be my eighteenth year in education. I have spent the previous years working as a classroom teacher, middle school counselor and an elementary school counselor. Helping students is what I love to do!

When I am not at school, you can usually find me at a sporting event for one of my three children: Dominic (11), Daniel (9) and Elle (9). We live around the corner in Hudson with my husband, Brian and miniature goldendoodle, Louie. If there is anything you need, I am here to help! Please reach out via email to lambrosia@aurora-schools.org or 330.562.3175, extension 1260.

School Nurse and Medication at School

We are so lucky to have Mrs. Dana Courtad as Craddock's school nurse. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always able to help a scraped knee, lost tooth, hurt belly and so much more! She is in the building whenever students are five days a week and we are grateful!

If your child needs to take medication at school, please fill out the forms shown below and bring the medication to Craddock. Your child is not permitted to carry the medication in him/herself. An adult must transport it.

If you have any questions at all, please call our main office at 330-562-3175.
