Thank you for holding down the fort while Christina and I attended a PBIS conference. We learned a lot and Chicago is a beautiful city but it is always great to be back home! We appreciate everyone who helped support our SD classes and students who may have had a rough day.
Don't forget Dine out to Donate tomorrow! Please remind your parents. If you know where you are eating tomorrow night, consider sharing that with your class :0) I will be eating dinner at Red River Cantina!

Watch D.O.G.S. start this week. We have Watch DOGS scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Each week , I will add the Watch DOGS to the important dates section of the newsletter. It will have the dad's name, teacher's name and where they will go for block. They have a schedule to follow which I will add at the end of the S'more. They can follow the schedule or if they prefer to help out at all the recesses, that is fine also. They also have time built in their schedule to help in Makerspace, Library, Lit Library and Computer Lab. If you have a special job they can help with, please let us know and we will communicate it to them. I don't have schedules for SD or AA yet. We will work on these.

Teachers—if you are available for tutoring a Parr Student, please send me the topics you tutor and your availability.
Mrs. Ragghianti will put together a tutoring list for Parr Families. The district used to have a list that they would give us with people who tutor but they are not going to do this anymore. If you know someone outside of Parr who tutors and they want to be on our list, you can give us their info also.
Kellie Edinburgh! She provided extra support on campus last week while we were out! Be sure to tell her she is appreciated. :-)
Thank you to Jessica who put all student accommodations into sub folders.
A big shout out to Hirsch, Bartley, Ragghianti and Lowery for submitting a CCEF Mini-grant! I believe the window is open until Friday if you want to apply.
Core Value focus- Responsibility
Character Strong Traits- Responsibility and Perseverance
How can you connect the work we have done on growth mindset (especially our GT kiddos with Mrs. McKinney) to perseverance?
Amazing Kids of Character- Perseverance video clip (see below)
Small goal setting
Ask your students- how can you be responsible today? When they come in the next day for morning meeting follow up and have them give a fist to five at how close they were to reaching their goal.
Perseverance ties in nicely with growth mindset
A great quote to open up a morning meeting with for upper grades!
