You can find events for the Week on the SHS Staff Calendar. The calendar can also be found on the SHS Website (staff tab) and the Eagle Vision home page.
Triple E Framework and Blended Learning
Before the meeting (during your Monday planning block, weekend down time, etc) open the Triple E and Blended Learning hyperdoc and take part in a flipped learning activity. Information from the activity will be used during Monday's meeting.
News and Announcements
Accountability Data
The SBE has approved testing and accountability data from 17-18. There are a number of bright spots for Silk Hope School as well as opportunities for improvement. Let's celebrate the positives, identify areas to strengthen, and implement strategies to improve. Together, we can do it! I have compiled a short summary of our data from the DPI. More to come as we dive into the data but for now take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments.
NCEES Reminders (PDPs and Self Assessments)
As you begin inputting PDP and self assessment information into NCEES, remember that you can seek assistance if you run into issues by referring to the “Help Guides” (log into NCEES and click the tab for Help Guides). There are a lot of good tools and resources.
Please be reminded that one PDP goal must address Digital Learning Competencies (DLC) and that 2 CEUs must be earned with licensure renewals beginning in 2019.
Cart Charging Issue (from Allison)
The white Anywhere Carts charge randomly. Meaning, one entire shelf does not charge all at one time. It may be 3 on the top shelf, 4 on the middle shelf, and 5 on the bottom shelf charging at one time (for example). It will then switch and charge the others at later times.
Please leave the laptops in the correct numbered spot. Do not switch them around in the cart in order to charge the ones that may have an issue. This way we can verify that certain laptops are indeed not charging. I know there has been some confusion since they all do not lite up at one time.
Safety Courses
The second round of Public School Works safety courses are due Friday, September 21. You will NOT receive an email regarding the courses; you WILL NEED to self enroll in the first round of courses. I'm once again sharing information regarding courses, training schedule and how to self enroll.
Parent Requests for Testing
Just a reminder, if a parent makes a request for testing the following must occur:
The request must be in writing and include a date (the 90 day timeline begins when we receive the request).
The request must state specific concerns the parent has regarding why he/she feels their child may have a learning disability
The request needs to be given to me (Angie) so I can respond in writing
I will give the request to either Shawn or Jeanette so they can invite the parent in for a DEC 1 meeting.
School Messenger Calls
If you have an important reminder for parents or students (a class field trip, activity, etc) we can do an alert call home for you. We can add it to our Sunday evening calls (please submit by Thursday) or we can do it the day before the event (just submit at least the day prior to you wanting it sent). Write the message just as you want us to read it. It’s a great way to get important information to parents and we are glad to help you!
PTA Budget Requests
PTA budget requests should be submitted by Friday, September 14. The PTA Advisory Board will be meeting Monday, September 17 to review requests and prepare a budget which will be presented at the general meeting September 24. This Budget Request Form can be used to submit multiple requests, up to four if needed.
Use the Field Trip Request form to submit your requests for the year. This information will be used by the PTA to allocate field trip funding. Once again, please do NOT include field trip requests in this form.
