Focus: Supporting students with ODD
*Give two choices when a decision is needed, be brief and concise.
*Be clear about classroom rules, be firm with what is negotiable and non-negotiable.
*Post daily schedule so students know what to expect.
*Praise students when they respond in a positive way.
*Avoid topics that may cause the student to react.
*Carefully construct group work with clear role statements and promote positive interaction during instructional time. (incorporate the social skills needed into role statement).
* Minimise downtime and plan transitions carefully, students with ODD do their best when busy.

Where have you worked prior to working at CHS?
I have 20 years experience in long day care, caring for children aged between 6weeks and 5years of age. After a long stint of changing nappies, I decided that a change is exactly what I needed.
What are your interests outside of work?
I am a mother of two girls, aged 7 and 10. My husband and I are keen campers and caravan enthusiasts. I'm looking forward to our next adventure to Perth over the Christmas holidays.
