Painter and Poet: The Wonderful World of Ashley Bryan
- April 1, 2017– January 21, 2018
- Painter and Poet: the Wonderful World of Ashley Bryan continues the High Museum’s series of picture-book art exhibitions. It examines the decades-long career of author and illustrator Ashley Bryan.
- Eight of Bryan’s puppets, which are inspired by African art and composed of objects he finds on the small Maine island where he lives, will accompany his book illustrations in Painter and Poet.
- The exhibition will also feature a biographical video produced by the High with footage of Bryan at his home and studio, providing audiences with an intimate look at the artist’s life.

· This course is designed to empower teachers with new knowledge and skill by exposing them to digital learning resources that are user-friendly, easily accessible and help to support a 21st century learning environment.

· The Explorers' Guild (EG) is a free monthly workshop (during the school year) where educators can exchange experiences, learn from each other, and experiment with tools and technologies.
· The Explorers' Guild is sponsored by STEM@GTRI - a collaboration of Georgia Tech researchers working with government and industry to support technology-enabled learning in K-12 settings across Georgia.
Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop
The 2017 Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop is the premier forestry and environmental education workshop for teachers and educators in Georgia.
· This year, the workshop will be held on June 19-23, 2017, at Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center and will focus on topics related to the benefits of forestry, including the cycle of growing trees, the utilization of trees for common consumer products and the management of trees for water and wildlife
· Participants are certified in Project Learning Tree, Project WILD and Project WET.
· Each attendee will receive a certificate of course completion and a $100 check upon completion of a follow up activity.
· The workshop is recommended for Georgia educators of grades 5-12, but other educators may apply.
· Sponsors underwrite all field trips, event lodging, meals and teacher resource kits, and the registration fee for participants is only $50.
