Congrats to Counselor Sherry Thomas!

Sherry Thomas was recently named the Illinois School Counselor Association's School Counselor Advocate of the Year! Congratulations to Sherry for a much deserved award!


Thousands of scholarship dollars are awarded this month. Winners are reminded to take a minute to handwrite a Thank you note to those scholarship committees and sponsors. HHS students are extremely lucky to have a supportive community that values the diversity in our student population- there is money available to everyone. If you need help on what to write please see your school counselor.

Registration for 2015-2016

Counselors will be meeting with current juniors this month to finalize their schedules for senior year.

All other students will receive a class list via email this summer.

Schedule changes will occur the first three days of school.

Changes can only be made if a student did not request the scheduled course.

Level changes require approval from teacher and parent.

AP Testing

AP testing is the first two weeks of May. Scores will be posted online only in July. Students may set up their college board account at anytime on

*It's best to provide the same information on your College Board account and each AP answer sheet.

*You will need your AP number from your student pack and the card you received during "bubble in" to receive this year's scores.

Final Exam Schedule

*All Freshman and Sophomores will take final exams. Juniors and seniors need to check with each teacher to see if they qualify for exemption.

Summer School- English and Driver's Ed

Summer school is an opportunity for students to recover 1/2 a credit in English or complete Driver's Ed. Interested students must complete a registration form, sign a rules and regulations contract and pay fees. Please contact the HHS Office for more information.

All summer courses are pass/fail and do not count in the student's GPA.

English- June 3- June 24- 8:15-12:00 Noon

Tuition $125

Driver's Ed- June 3 8am-12:00pm (Everyone)

June 4- June 24- 8:00am-10:00am or 10am-12:00pm

Tuition $250 and $20 to Secretary of State to process permit application

*Must be 15 on or before 6/21/15

*Each session limited to 25 students

Summer is a great time for students at every grade level to focus on their career and college search. Students should visit campuses and meet with admission representatives to get questions answered so applications can be made during the Fall of Senior Year.
