VETERANS DAY

I am so thankful that we are a part of school and church that are so respectful and supportive of the veteran community. The community is unique and represented by so many different stories and experiences.

We are in a time where we are not in open conflict with a clear enemy. Often times it is difficult to connect and understand the significance, purpose, and sacrifice of our armed forces during times like these. We currently operate in a large game of chess with world powers where special operations and contracted teams keep the world in proper motion and order.

Strategic leadership is key in the current environments that we operate in. That is why it is crucial that we strive to elect strong leaders that can establish and maintain strategic partnerships while maintaining rigidity in our countries unique ideals. The military feels the brunt of this process no matter if it is done well or poorly.

I have been able to seen this process unfold over the last 15 years in the military and I am humbled time and time again to see how well our service men and women stay focused on who we are as a country and commit everything to protect it. Patriotism and pride are easily established when we are fighting a known enemy in a named operation. However, our military continues its progression forward regardless if it is behind the curtain or on full display. Because of that pride our military has a way of creating memories like none other. Moments in service are charged with excitement, intensity, fear, grief, and hope. That is why the veteran community is unique; very few occupations take you to the fringe of each of those emotions. When you get to the fringe of those emotions memories are etched, brotherhoods are created, and history is made.

Thank you for being such an incredible community that celebrates and supports that!

(Thanks to AJ Bonanno for the picture from Friday nights game! I am glad we were able to keep that cannon hot all night!)
