Week of Worship April 19-23

Next week our students will walk to the Keene Church for Week of Worship. PreSchool, PreKindergarten and Kindergarten will be shuttled in the bus. It is important that you plan to arrive on time to school next week. Students arriving after we have left to go to the church will have to wait in the office until their class comes back. Please be punctual next week.

Each day students will have an activity in the classroom that will help them think about what was shared that morning. Monday’s activity could potentially be messy. Students will be dyeing shirts. We are asking that on Monday you send your child with a shirt they can put on or over to protect clothes from getting stained.

Have you noticed all the commotion over at our new gym? We are moving closer and closer each day to completion. This week they have been working on the framing for the rooms in the gym and the openings for exterior doors.

6th Grade holds a Medieval Fair in the classroom

No field trips? No problem! After reading a medieval story that demonstrates personal growth and overcoming adversity, we usually head to Medieval Times to celebrate our learning with character lessons, Old English, and all things medieval. This year, we created our own celebration. 6th graders researched various aspects of medieval culture to share with classmates during our Medieval Fair.

3rd Grade Pizza Shop

Whats the best way to learn about fractions. Pizza! Customers called in to the 3rd grade Pizza Shop to order pizzas and toppings from each student, while using fractions. Students then had to make the pizzas to order making sure to get the fractions right. Way to remind us how we use math every day. Thank you Ms. Chavez.

School Calendar for Next Year

The KAES school calendar is out. You can click on this link to go directly to it. “Calendar link” I know that many of you are wanting to make plans. I hope you will find it helpful. Remember that things do change and the best calendar to look at is the digital one on our website.

We have listed the lunch menu for the entire month of April. There is a separate lunch order link available for each week of the month. All weekly links are available on the menu at and each individual week will be shared in the newsletter. It is our hope that this will provide an easier way for you to keep track of lunches purchased.

You can edit your order at any time. If you need to make a change to your order, please do it through the confirmation email you receive from your order. This will help us not to double order for your child.
