What does a food engineer do?

They apply the principles of many scientific disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, molecular biology, nutrition and microbiology to the challenges of food production.

One of the current projects at Kellogg's is making a new brand of cereal. It has been very difficult figuring out which new flavors will do well in the food industry.
