PK-2 Weather Graphing
This is a simple introduction to collecting and analyzing data!
PK-2 Weather Surprise!
Imagine you work for a science museum. You've been asked to create a poster about weather. Review "Weather Surprise" with Sid the Science Kid. Draw an image of either a warm region or cold region. What could only live in a cold climate? What could only live in a warm climate?
PK-2 Wind Direction
How can you test the direction the wind is blowing? Make a device that shows which way the wind blows. It can be made from any materials you like, but it should blow easily in the wind.
PK - 2 Digital Citizenship
Balance is important! Watch the video and discuss a balance between technology and other activities. Now talk about this together: 1. What was your favorite part of the song and why? 2. How can we work together to have media balance as a family? 3. What would that look like? You can even draw a picture that shows your whole family practicing media balance.

Grades 3-5 Cloudy with a Chance of...
It's raining food where you live! After reading or watching a video of the book, write or record your own version of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett and Ronald Barrett. Share your story with your family.
Grades 3-5 Make an Anemometer
The site gives instructions for how to make an anemometer and measure the speed of the wind. Speeds could be kept in a log and various analytical questions could be answered about the data.
Grades 3-5 Weather Wiz
Imagine you work for a science museum. You've been asked to create a poster about weather. Review one of the games from the National Weather Service. Draw an image of either a warm region or cold region. Add plants and animals that could live in your region. Write a caption for each image explaining how the plants and animals adapted to the environment.
Grades 3-5 Strong Homes
Using recycled materials from your home, design a house that can withstand the weather elements: wind (use a fan), rain (spray bottle or cup of water), and snow (let ice melt on the top of your home). You can use a casserole dish or cake pan to place your house in to see if it could withstand a flash flood.
Grades 3-5 Digital Citizenship - Rings of Responsibility
Being responsible on the internet is important! Discuss these questions after watching the video: 1. How could throwing a bottle out of your window be similar to something you do online? 2. What are the Rings of Responsibility? 3. Have you ever heard the term "digital citizen"? What comes to mind when you hear that term.
