GRE Family Gazette

August 26, 2018

Dear GRE Families,

Now that our school family is all here, we are getting in the swing of our daily schedules and enjoying time together learning. Over these last 8 days, I have had the opportunity to read to every student in the building! From Pig the Star in Kindergarten to The Magician's Hat in Fourth Grade and several special books in between. I loved every second of getting to be with all of our students-GRE is a very special place to be!

We hope you enjoyed Curriculum Night and had the opportunity to learn all about your child's year. If you have any feedback about what went well or what could be improved, please email me to let me know your thoughts: It was great to see so many families come out to support our students and we appreciate you spending your Thursday night with us! Now...on to the prize winners from our first ever GRE Scavenger Hunt!

A Few Important Reminders:

1. If you drop your child off prior to 8:35 they are unsupervised. Be sure to talk to your child about safe behavior such as not climbing up the columns, playing tag while cars are in close proximity, etc. We want to make sure that all our students stay safe until we can welcome them into the building at 8:35.

2. A reminder that we are transitioning to two grade cards this year. One will come home December 19th, the second and final one will come home on the last day of school. However, we are committed to making sure you are up to date with your child's progress. One tool we will use to make sure you are informed about your child's progress is Fall conferences. Fall conference dates are September 27th, October 18th, and November 19th. You will hear more information about your Fall conference shortly. You can read more about our report card on the second page of the Elementary Program of Studies. Click here if you'd like to check it out online.
