Tuesday, August 10th


  • Band Camp, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ EAHS.
  • IMA Meeting, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ EAHS Cafeteria.
  • Chaperone Interest Meeting (directly after IMA meeting) @ EAHS Cafeteria.


Masks are required for all attendees for the IMA Meeting and Chaperone Interest Meeting


Wednesday, August 11th


  • Band Camp, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ EAHS.


Thursday, August 12th


  • Band Camp, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ EAHS.


Friday, August 13th

Band Camp needs your help!

Band Camp is here! There is still time to volunteer your time and donations! Please sign-up to provide what you can. Please use the following link to sign-up to volunteer or provide food for our hard working band!

This year we will be having an additional pasta night. We will need several helpers during those dinners as well as people willing to bake pasta dishes. We would like a variety of dishes if possible.

2021 Band Camp Information

BAND CAMP ITEMS & INFORMATION:

Please reference the band camp welcome letter that was mailed and also sent out electronically via our newsletter. Items that EVERY student needs to have:

  • Instrument/ Equipment
  • 3 Ring Binder with plastic sheets
  • 10+ Identical Field Markers (labeled with name)
  • Water Jug (labeled)
  • Pencils
  • Sneakers with laces (no slip on shoes)
  • Sunscreen/ Bug Spray/ Rain Gear
  • Music/ Flippo/ Lyre (instrumentalists)
  • Medical Form & Image Use Release Form turned in
  • Mask (this is needed whenever inside the school)


If you have financial difficulty obtaining any of the above items, please reach out to Mr. Ballentine at ballentinec@eastonsd.org. Student section leaders will also be going over this information.


Band Camp begins on Monday, August 09 for ALL percussion, ALL guard, ALL council, & ALL new members. Rehearsal begins at 8 a.m. Percussion should be here by 7:20 a.m. for warm ups at 7:30 a.m. The full band begins camp on Tuesday, August 10 at 2 p.m.

Health Precautions:

  • Masks are not required when students are outdoors. However, students are able to wear a mask outdoors if they feel more comfortable doing so. Masks will be worn inside the building for band camp.
  • Wind players will have bell covers provided to wear when inside the building during ensemble rehearsals. These will be provided to each student. These will not be worn outside at this time.
  • Hand sanitizer & wipes will be readily available for all to use in all rehearsal spaces & locations.

2021 March A Thon - Friday, August 13

It is that time of year when we begin preparing for our annual March A Thon!

What is it?

Taking place during our regularly scheduled camp, students march the equivalent of 50 laps around the football field throughout the morning. In addition, they partake in team building activities, games & other events.


What do I need to do?

We ask all students to find sponsorships for this day. Section leaders will be relaying information to their sections regarding specifics for the event & ways you can sponsor a student.


Our goal is $5,000. If every student found $20 in sponsorships, we would EXCEED our goal! See the forms below for sponsorship information:

COTTINGHAM REOPENING

Cottingham Reopening schedule to be held on Monday, August 23.


  • Rehearsal at EAHS from 2:00 - 4:30 PM (update: students should pack their own dinner)
    • Students should wear 2021 band t shirt, shorts, long black socks, & dark sneakers.
  • 5:15 PM - Students dismissed/ individual transportation to Cottingham Stadium for ceremony
  • 5:45 PM - Warm up at Cottingham/ Reopening Performance
    • Family/ friends encouraged to attend - 6:30 PM ceremony start time
  • 8:00 PM - Pick up at Cottingham Stadium

There are MANY ways that you can help! One of the best ways to help us fundraise is to contact businesses who may be interested in sponsoring the instrumental music program. There are options for businesses to also get special shout outs on our social media, in our concert programs & more.

Parents & Guardians: there is a DISCOUNTED rate for pre-sale tickets. This form is due back by September 04.


There are also ways for you to take out an ad for your child. You can also choose to put a shout out in the program (only $5!). All ads are due by August 28.

CHAPERONE INTEREST & IMA MEETINGS - TUESDAY AUGUST 10th

The August IMA meeting will be held in person on Tuesday, August 10 @ 7 PM in the EAHS Cafeteria. Masks must be worn by ALL attendees regardless of vaccination status. Immediately following the meeting will be light refreshments & desserts and a chaperone interest meeting.

Mums Fundraiser!

The fall mums fundraiser will start this Monday, August 9th and run through August 23rd. We are selling 9-inch potted mums (several color choices) for $7 each. Coupons are also redeemable at the nursery for $6 each.

There will be two pick up dates in mid-September (the 11th for plant and coupons, the 14th for coupons only).

Palmer Days Volunteers Needed!

Palmer Days are almost here!

WHEN: Thursday 8/19 thru Sunday 8/22

Keep an eye out to sign up to donate or volunteer for the IMA Hershey’s ice cream booth. Student scoopers and adult volunteers will be needed to make this fundraiser a success!

PMEA D10 Band & Orchestra Auditions

Solo lists for the 2021 - 2022 PMEA District festivals have been released.

Auditions take place on Saturday, December 04, 2021. To view the solo lists & see more information about the requirements, please visit the PMEA D10 website.

Calling all volunteers!

As we prepare for the upcoming year, we are looking for volunteers to help at various events! In order to do this, clearances need to be on file with EASD.

To do this, please view our website with step-by-step information on how to go about obtaining these.


Please be sure to also complete & return the volunteer form found under the strings camp/ band camp information sections of this newsletter. This form will also be mailed out in mid-July.

Additionally, if you are interested in serving as a nurse for the band during band camp & football games, please reach out to our medical coordinator, Mrs. Ferretti, at medicalrecords@eahsmusic.org.

Band App - Stay Informed

This year, we are using a platform called the "band" app to communicate. This is a supplement to our emails sent out weekly.


The advantages of this app include:

  • Notifications sent directly to phone or device.
  • Instant communication to relay last-minute changes or details.
  • Integrated calendar (with ability to import the calendar to your phone's calendar).
  • Attachments tab to keep track of any forms.

The Easton Area High School (EAHS) Instrumental Music Program has a long history of success. The program consists of nearly 380 students in grades 9 – 12 and encompasses marching band, three concert bands, three orchestras, two jazz ensembles, pep band, and pit orchestra.
